IS GAZZA BLEACHING HIS SKIN?

In 2016, the Namibian Newspaper published an article titled "Up Your Skincare Routine dated 2016-08-05. In this article Gazza was featured because of his apparent good looks, he was asked what his secret was for always looking eye-candy or what diet he uses and he said he doesn't particularly take special care of his skin, be it by way of skincare products or through his diet. “I just use normal soap which I don't even know the name of because my wife buys all that,” he admits. Well, this didn't raise our eyebrows at Windhoekblogger until we saw a recent post of Gazza, looking extremely white compared to when he started singing. If Gazza has started bleaching it will come as no surprise because he is one of thy Namibians who have been exposed to the international community that also believes in bleaching. Bleaching according to reports has been made famous in South Africa and Nigeria, some of the top South African and Nigerian artists who are known for bleaching their skin is  South African television presenter, radio personality, businesswoman, producer, model, and philanthropist. Why Gazza has opted to go lighter, or how he is suddenly lighter is still unknown at this point but in other countries, people would bleach their skin to obtain what would be called a “yellow bone look” which is slang for light-skinned black men and women. A Nineteen-year-old Jeff from Johannesburg, who is a marketing student and has been using skin bleaching creams for two years, says he loves the results from using the chemicals. “When I compare myself to now, I’m more appealing now because I’m lighter,” he said. Famous singer and rapper Mshoza, who is “an icon in South Africa” and has been using the creams for many years says lightening her skin color has completely changed her image, and re-energized her career.

Skin whitening, also known as skin lightening and skin bleaching, refers to the practice of using chemical substances in an attempt to lighten the skin or provide an even skin color by reducing the melanin concentration in the skin.
